Fake vs Genuine Adderall Medicine

Fake vs Genuine Adderall Medicine. There should be a special place in hell reserved for people who make counterfeit drugs.

Okay, maybe there is no hell but we think drug counterfeiters — who take money from sick people and who sell them fake drugs that may ultimately harm them — are the lowest of the low and the scummiest of scums who should be arrested and locked up in jail till the end of tiem.

The latest medicine that these counterfeiters are faking is the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drug Adderall from Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.

The drug is also used to treat narcolepsy.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the fake Adderralls being sold via the internet does not contain the correct active ingredients found in the genuine version of the drug.

Instead of the four active ingredients in the real thing (dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate, and amphetamine sulfate), fake Adderalls contain tramadol and acetaminophen which are used to treat acute pain not ADHD or narcolepsy.

Knowing the difference in the active ingredients for the counterfeit and genuine drugs is well and good.

However, how do we tell whether the medicine we’re buying is fake or not?

Thankfully, for us HealthCareWatchers, the FDA has some pointers and some photos that that should help us decide to tell the differences between fake vs genuine Adderall. Check out the FDA information and images below:

First here are some pictures for the AUTHENTIC or GENUINE Adderall.

Note that tablets have markings on them (“dp” is embossed on one side and “30” on the other), round, orange/peach, and are are packaged in a 100-count bottle with the National Drug Code (NDC) 0555-0768-02 listed.

On the other hand, the FAKE or COUNTERFEIT Adderalls look like these:

What should you check out in the images above? Note the following:
1. The product comes in a blister package.
2. There are misspellings on the package.
“NDS” instead of “NDC”
“Aspartrte” instead of “Aspartate”
“Singel” instead of “Single”
3. The tablets are white in color, round in shape, and are smooth.
4. The tablets have no markings on them.

So if you bought an Adderall that looks like the latter photos, you should dump them in your garbage bin because they are, to use the words of the FDA, “unsafe, ineffective and potentially harmful”.
