There’s a new way to treat cancer and it has recently gained the approval of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Kymriah is a gene-therapy approach to cancer treatment which is pioneered by Swiss drugmaker Novartis. The drug maker is also going through the process of having the treatment approved by the European Medicines Agency and be made available in Europe.
Does it Work? Well, it wouldn’t have gained the approval of the FDA if it does not work, right? However, the Kymriah cell treatment has only been approved for the treatment of patients up to 25 years of age with B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that is refractory or in second or later relapse. In other words, this is not meant for all cancer patients. As you may note in the Reuters report below, the drug maker is seeking to also get Kymriah approved for adult patients.

Are anti-prostate drugs like Lupron, Zoladex, Trelstar, Viadur, Vantas, Eligard and Synarel safe? The US Food and Drug Administration is looking into whether these drugs increase the risk of diabetes and certain cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, sudden cardiac death, stroke) in men receiving them for prostate cancer but has not made any conclusions yet.
From the FDA release: “FDA’s review is ongoing. The agency has not made any conclusions about GnRH agonists and whether they increase the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in patients receiving these medications for prostate cancer.”

Can Marijuana Cure Cancer? Proof of Effectiveness? Is marijuana a cure for cancer? If so, how effective is it? Well, currently, there really is no proof that marijuana can cure cancer.

Shingrix Good or Bad? Is Shingles Vaccine Effective or Not? Is Shingrix, the GlaxoSmithKline shingles vaccine for adults aged 50 years old an up good or bad? Does it work or is it ineffective?
Well, the vaccine has proven to be effective 90% of the time during trials conducted by the drug company. This means that it works for nine out of ten people who are vaccinated using Shingrix. This means that it does not work in one out of ten cases which means that these folks will have to find another way of battling shingles.
